  • 2 cans (15 oz each) low-sodium navy beans, drained
  • 6 strips thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. Using the bacon drippings, sauté the chopped onion until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained navy beans, cooked bacon, sautéed onions, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  6. Remove foil for the last 10 minutes to caramelize the top before serving hot.
