Description

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) navy or pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Drain excess fat, leaving about one tablespoon.
  3. Add diced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the drained beans, onion-bacon mixture, brown sugar, mustard, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes for crispy edges.
