Description

Papaya agua fresca is a revitalizing tropical drink that encapsulates the essence of summer. With its vibrant combination of ripe papaya and zesty lime juice, this beverage is the ultimate thirst quencher for hot days, picnics, and family gatherings. Effortlessly blend it up to create a refreshing treat that is both hydrating and delicious. Enjoy the burst of flavors while savoring every sip!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups ripe papaya chunks (about 1 medium papaya)
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 4 cups chilled water
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener (honey, sugar, or agave syrup) – adjust to taste
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the ripe papaya in half. Scoop out the seeds and cut the flesh into chunks.
  2. In a blender, combine the papaya chunks, lime juice, and chilled water. Blend until smooth.
  3. Taste the mixture; if desired, add sweetener and blend again until fully incorporated.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove any pulp.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour or serve immediately over ice.
  6. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
