Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente per package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Combine drained pasta with the sauce in the skillet, adding reserved pasta water as needed for creaminess.
  5. Stir in torn basil just before serving and top with grated parmesan cheese.
