American Flag Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 3 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 1 package marshmallows 10 oz
Coloring Ingredients
  • 1 cup red candy melts
  • 1 cup blue candy melts
  • 1 cup white candy melts

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and marshmallows together in the microwave for about 2 minutes, stirring halfway through until smooth.
  2. Once melted, add the Rice Krispies cereal and mix until fully coated.
  3. Press the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish evenly.
Color the Treats
  1. Melt the red, white, and blue candy melts in separate microwave-safe bowls according to package instructions.
  2. Once melted, drizzle the red and blue melts over the Rice Krispie base in a flag pattern, leaving space for the white.
  3. Use a spatula to spread the melted white candy melts in the remaining space for the stars.
Set and Serve
  1. Allow the treats to cool and set for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
