Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk about 110°F
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
Filling
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Topping
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix well.
  2. Add warm milk and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Cruffins
  1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Brush the surface with melted butter.
  3. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other to form a log.
  5. Cut the log into 8 equal pieces and place each piece in a greased muffin tin.
Bake and Finish
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Let the cruffins rise for another 30 minutes.
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon for the topping.
  5. Brush the warm cruffins with melted butter and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
