Ingredients
  

Pork
  • 2 pounds pork shoulder trimmed and cut into large chunks
BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite brand
Seasonings
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Buns
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns for serving
Optional Toppings
  • 1 cup coleslaw for topping
  • 1/2 cup pickles for serving

Method
 

Prepare the Pork
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder pieces.
Cook in Crockpot
  1. Place the seasoned pork in the crockpot and pour the BBQ sauce over the top. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
Shred the Pork
  1. Once cooked, remove the pork from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the crockpot and mix it with the remaining sauce.
Assemble Sandwiches
  1. Serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns and top with coleslaw and pickles if desired.
