Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves finely ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Stained Glass Filling
  • 1 cup crushed hard candies various colors

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, ground Earl Grey tea, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough in half, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Shape and Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out one half of the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes, and then cut out the center of each shape to create a window.
  4. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets and fill the centers with crushed hard candies.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the candy has melted.
  6. Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
