Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 3.5 tablespoons flour
  • 14.5 oz beef broth canned
  • 1 pie dough
  • 8 olives for decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a large fry pan, melt butter. Dice the onion and sauté for about five minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef and brown, sprinkling with steak seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Sauté until browned and add garlic, sautéing for another minute.
  4. Sprinkle with flour and cook, blending the flour until it is well incorporated for a couple of minutes.
  5. Increase the heat to medium high and add the beef broth, stirring constantly. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the meat mixture thickens. Remove from heat.
  6. Ladle the pot pie filling into pie tins.
  7. Take the pie dough and cut into narrow strips, laying them on top of the meat pies in a crooked and overlapping manner. Tuck a couple of olives in for eyes and brush with beaten egg.
  8. Place all the finished pot pies on a cooking sheet and bake until golden brown.

Notes
