Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¾ cups warm water
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Method
 

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, add warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. After 5 minutes, add 2 tablespoons olive oil, salt, and all-purpose flour.
  3. Using a dough attachment, mix the ingredients on low speed until combined. Knead for 5 minutes on low speed until slightly sticky.
  4. Add another 2 tablespoons olive oil to coat the dough from all sides.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a clean towel. Let it rise for 2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 475°F.
  7. Gently press the dough to deflate and divide it in half.
  8. Place one half on a round baking pan, flatten, and stretch into a 12-inch disk with lifted edges.
  9. Add desired toppings and bake at 475°F for 15-18 minutes on the middle rack.
  10. Let it rest for 5 minutes, cut into 8 slices, and serve.
