  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ½ cup whole milk warmed
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries (or raspberry jam)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk and sugar; add yeast and let sit until bubbly.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a bowl, add the yeast mixture, eggs, and vanilla; stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Incorporate softened butter into the dough until fully combined.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, roll out, spread raspberries or jam, roll tightly, and place in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
