Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 2 pounds chuck roast trimmed of excess fat
Sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Buns
  • 4 pieces sandwich rolls preferably hoagie or brioche
Toppings
  • 1 cup coleslaw optional
  • 1 cup pickles optional

Method
 

Prepare the Beef
  1. Season the chuck roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Place the seasoned roast in the slow cooker.
Make the Sauce
  1. In a bowl, mix together beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Pour the sauce mixture over the roast in the slow cooker.
Cook the Beef
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
Shred and Serve
  1. Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  2. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
  3. Serve the shredded beef on sandwich rolls and top with coleslaw and pickles if desired.
