Ingredients
  

Tuna Salad
  • 2 cans tuna drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise adjust to taste
  • 1 stalk celery finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices bread whole grain or your choice
  • 4 leaves lettuce for serving
  • 1 tomato sliced for serving

Method
 

Prepare Tuna Salad
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, chopped red onion, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Assemble Sandwich
  1. Lay out the slices of bread on a clean cutting board.
  2. Spread a generous amount of the tuna salad mixture onto two slices of bread.
  3. Top with lettuce leaves and tomato slices.
  4. Place the other two slices of bread on top to form sandwiches.
  5. Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately.
