Ingredients for Air Fryer Zucchini

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious Air Fryer Zucchini:

1 Large Zucchini – Look for a fresh, firm zucchini. The smaller, younger zucchinis offer a tender texture.

½ Cup All Purpose Flour – This thin coating helps achieve that perfect crunch. You can substitute with whole wheat flour if you prefer.

1 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs – These are crucial for a super crispy outer layer. If you’re gluten-free, there are gluten-free breadcrumbs available.

¼ Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese – The cheese brings in a salty, umami element that pairs beautifully with the garlic and zucchini.

½ teaspoon Dried Parsley – A sprinkle of parsley adds a bit of freshness and color.

2 teaspoon Garlic Powder – Garlic powder provides a punchy flavor that makes these fries absolutely irresistible.

½ teaspoon Sea Salt – Essential for enhancing all the flavors.

½ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper – Just enough to add warmth and depth to the dish.

How to Make Air Fryer Zucchini

Follow these simple steps to prepare this delicious Air Fryer Zucchini:

Step 1: Prepare the Coatings
In one medium-sized bowl, combine the all-purpose flour with half of the garlic powder, parsley, sea salt, and black pepper. Stir until everything is mixed well. Set this seasoned flour aside to work its magic later.

Step 2: Get the Eggs Ready
In another medium bowl, crack in your eggs and whisk them until blended. Don’t forget to season them lightly with salt and pepper—just a pinch will do. This will help the coatings stick seamlessly to the zucchini.

Step 3: Mix the Panko Coating
In a third bowl, toss together the panko breadcrumbs, the remaining garlic powder, parsley, sea salt, and black pepper. This mixture is where the crispy goodness comes from.

Step 4: Slice the Zucchini
Start by cutting off the ends of the zucchini. Then, halve it lengthwise, and cut those halves crosswise into sections about ¼ to ½ inch thick to achieve fry-like shapes. Just imagine the delightful sizzling sound as they cook!

Step 5: Salt the Zucchini
Sprinkle the sliced zucchini fries with a touch of fine grain salt. Allow them to rest for at least 5 minutes; this draws out excess moisture. After the wait, press them gently with a paper towel to absorb any liquid, preventing sogginess.

Step 6: Bread the Zucchini
Now for the fun part! Take each zucchini fry, dip it first into the flour mixture, shaking off the excess. Next, dunk it into the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off, then coat it well with the panko mixture. Place the finished fries on a plate, ready for their crispy transformation.

Step 7: Air Fry to Perfection
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Once heated, mist the basket lightly with oil. Add the zucchini fries in a single layer and top them with another light mist of oil. Air fry for 8-10 minutes until they are brilliantly golden and crispy. The aroma alone will have everyone rushing to the kitchen!

Now that you’ve mastered how to make air fryer zucchini, it’s time to taste the fruits of your labor. Serve hot, and watch as everyone grabs for seconds (and maybe thirds). For dipping, a tangy marinara sauce or a ranch-style dip will take these fries to new heights of snacking bliss!
