20 cloves – These aromatic little gems infuse your punch with warm, spicy notes that scream holiday cheer.

2 cones (8 oz. each) GOYA® Brown Sugar Cane – Piloncillo, or 2 cups dark brown sugar – This sweetener elevates the flavor while adding a subtle caramel note to the mix.

1 medium apple, chopped (about 1¾ cups) – Apples provide crunchy texture and natural sweetness.

How to Make Ponche Navideño

Follow these simple steps to prepare this delicious Ponche Navideño:

Step 1: Prepare the Hibiscus Base
Start by bringing 1 quart of water and the dried hibiscus flowers to a boil in a medium pot over medium-high heat. Once it boils, remove it from heat and let it steep for about 20 minutes to extract all those lovely flavors.

Step 2: Infuse the Oranges
While your hibiscus is steeping, take the cloves and press the sharp side into one orange. Repeat this for the remaining cloves and the second orange. Then, quarter the oranges for easy adding to your punch later.

Step 3: Combine the Ingredients
After steeping, strain the hibiscus mixture into a large pot, discarding the solids. Add the remaining 5 quarts of water, clove-studded orange pieces, tejocotes, guava, sugar cane sticks, piloncillo, apple, pear, prunes, walnuts, raisins, and cinnamon sticks. Stir well and bring this delightful concoction to a boil, stirring occasionally to help dissolve the piloncillo.

Step 4: Simmer and Savor
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for about 1 hour. This will help all the flavors mingle beautifully while softening the fruit to perfection.

Step 5: Final Touches and Serve
After an hour, your kitchen will smell like the holidays! Ladle the punch into mugs and, if you’re feeling a little festive, add a splash of your favorite liquor. Serve warm for a comforting experience or chill it for a refreshing twist.

Every sip of this Ponche Navideño is not just a drink; it’s a celebration in a mug. Pour it up, sit back, and enjoy the flavors of tradition, laughter, and love. Cheers!
